Sabae City in Fukui Prefecture is one of the world’s leading centers for eyewear manufacturing. Drawing on the refined techniques cultivated in this region, this magnifying glass is carefully crafted from the same materials used in eyeglass frames.

The high-quality lens is designed to be easy on the eyes, even when focusing on a single fine point, making it comfortable to use and easy to bring into focus. Ideal for checking the condition of a needle’s eye, counting stitches, or examining detailed patterns, it gently supports moments that require close attention and helps make long hours of handcrafting more comfortable.

We are pleased to present this special edition, paired with a necklace cord made of silk braid featuring the traditional decorative knot “Tsuyu-musubi.”
This knot is named for its resemblance to dewdrops (“tsuyu”) resting on plants and flowers. It has long been used in prayer beads and kimono ornaments, and has traditionally been regarded as an auspicious knot symbolizing protection and the connection of life.

While designed to be enjoyed as a refined accessory, it also allows for quick touch-ups with the mirror on the reverse side. Gently accompanying moments of focused attention as you work with your hands and eyes, it quietly stays by your side like a small talisman.

It comes with a pink suede drawstring pouch for easy carrying, featuring the Cohana logo in gold.

One of the two available patterns will be selected at random and delivered.

Based in Sabae—widely known as Japan’s eyewear capital—Sabae Gift Group is a collective of makers who create products using materials and components originally developed for eyewear.
