Story

Cohana's popular Small Scissors with Lacquered Handles are now available in 濃藍, in a limited quantity.

Deeper and richer than Indigo Navy, the Deep Indigo hue has a quiet elegance. Simple yet refined, these special scissors embody a sense of understated sophistication. 

It comes with an elegant leather case in a warm gray with a soft, light gold interior.

Please note that this color does not include a charm.

The smooth texture unique to lacquer feels comfortable in the hand, and the more you use the scissors, the more attached to them you become.

Caring for them with the included cleaning cloth restores the lacquer’s luster, allowing you to cherish them for years to come. 

The fine, delicate blades make these scissors ideal for precise work in sewing, crafting, and other detailed creative projects.

A lacquer workshop in Aichi Prefecture, founded in 1970. They mainly work on lacquer finishing for Buddhist altar fittings and zushi (enclosures for Buddhist statues and sacred objects) for temples and households.

Established in 1933 in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, one of Japan's leading cutlery-making towns, Hasegawa Cutlery is a manufacturer of edged tools. Its products reflect the exceptional craftsmanship and extensive knowledge cultivated over many years, offering reliable quality and a smooth, satisfying cut.

Handling Precautions

• The blade tips are sharp. Handle with care.

• Do not cut hard materials, as this may damage the blades, affect blade alignment, and reduce cutting performance.

• Dropping or subjecting the scissors to strong impact may cause damage.

• If the scissors become wet, wipe them thoroughly to help prevent rust.

• Avoid storing the scissors in direct sunlight or in hot, humid environments to help prevent rust on the blades and discoloration of the lacquer.

• The lacquer and gold maki-e are very delicate. Do not use abrasive cloths or polishing compounds when cleaning, as they may damage the finish.

• After use, wipe the scissors with the included cleaning cloth and store them in the leather case.

• The genuine leather case may stretch or shrink slightly. Contact with water or perspiration may cause discoloration or staining.

• In rare cases, lacquer may cause skin irritation. If any irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.
